Job Summary:
The Logistics Manager will oversee the day-to-day activities of on-site and field operations, ensuring that all activities are carried out efficiently, effectively and profitably.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
· Oversees the daily workflow, operational activities, and monitors assignments of drivers and crew assigned to field operations.
· Trains, coaches, and motivates new and current field operations employees.
· Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy.
· Reviews and approves timecards for weekly processing of payroll.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Runs overbooking report and address issues accordingly.
· Reviews electronic and hard copy last minute orders from day prior and processes / fulfills day-of orders.
· Schedules drivers and crew for pick-up and delivery; utilizing routing software to ensure maximum profitability· Reviews all routes against hard copies on Point of Rental for the day to ensure accuracy and facilitates adjustments as needed.
· Manages equipment availability; assigns drivers, trucks, crew and facilities rental trucks and additional staff when needed.
· Anticipates weather and traffic complications along routes and at the drivers’ destinations; communicates delays and route changes as necessary.
· Maintains and reviews purchase orders and operation records; monitors daily logs for errors and/or compliance violations.
· Monitors drivers’ working hours to ensure compliance with company policy and federal and state laws and regulations.
· Manages and budgets all vehicle maintenance, repairs, expenses, DOT compliance, and auto insurance claims. · Closes out contracts from prior day on company system to ensure inventory is accurate.
· Ensures third party / sub-rental vendors perform responsibilities according to contractual obligations and company standards.
Required Skills/Abilities:
· Bilingual English / Spanish required
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Strong organizational skills to prepare and assign routes and manage logistics.
· Strong management skills to ensure drivers’ compliance with direction and assignments.
· Understanding of geographical area and mapping programs to facilitate efficient routing.
· Proficient with or able to quickly learn dispatch and computer systems.
· Ability to work at a fast pace and under pressure.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
