Eventscape is seeking a Custom Finishing Technician (Wood Finisher)to join our fabrication team.
About The Role
The Custom Finishing Technician will:
- Sand and smooth wood surfaces using hand tools and power sanders
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, conditioning, and testing finishes
- Apply stains, sealers, and protective coatings using various techniques (brush, sprayer, wiping)
- Troubleshoot and address any finishing defects (e.g., streaking, blotching, uneven finishes)
- Buff, polish, and inspect finished surfaces for consistency and quality
- Perform minor repairs (e.g., filling cracks or defects) before finishing
- Maintain and organize tools and equipment to ensure a safe and efficient workspace
- Manage inventory of finishing supplies
- Provide support with fabrication, assembly, and installations as needed
- Operate woodworking tools, conduct quality checks, and assistwith assembly
- Adhere to quality standards and assist with housekeeping and general maintenance
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- Experience with wood finishing techniques, including sanding, staining, and coating
- Skilled in applying stains with brushes, sprayers, and other techniques
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve common finishing defects
- Familiarity with common woodworking tools and equipment
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
- Detail-oriented with a focus on precision and quality control
- Experience performing preventative maintenance
