Job Summary:
We are seeking a versatile and dedicated School Support Staff member to join our team at a newly acquired preschool. This position is designed for a flexible, team-oriented individual who thrives in a dynamic preschool environment. Responsibilities include assisting in classrooms, providing transportation services as a bus driver, and supporting the leadership team with classroom coverage and other school operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support teachers in implementing engaging and developmentally appropriate activities.
- Assist with daily routines, including meals, naps, and transitions.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment for children.
- Build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
Transportation Support:
- Drive the school bus to transport children safely to and from the school or during field trips, as needed.
- Conduct daily safety checks on the vehicle and ensure compliance with transportation policies.
- Maintain communication with families and leadership regarding transportation needs or issues.
Leadership Team Assistance:
- Provide classroom coverage in the absence of staff or during breaks.
- Assist with administrative tasks, event preparation, and facility maintenance.
- Serve as a point of contact for families or staff as needed.
- Ensure that all areas of the school operate smoothly and efficiently.
General School Operations:
- Assist with organizing materials, cleaning, and maintaining the school environment.
- Participate in team meetings, professional development, and training sessions.
- Adapt to varying daily schedules and responsibilities based on the school’s needs.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in early childhood or related fields preferred.
- Experience working in a preschool, childcare, or educational setting is a plus.
- Clean driving record and ability to pass a background check
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain upon hire.
- Flexibility, reliability, and a proactive attitude.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
- Comfortable sitting on the floor, bending, stooping, and kneeling to engage with children.
- Ability to drive a school bus and manage children during transit.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: From $14.00 per hour
