Working under moderate supervision, this job supports other banking professionals to ensure that critical tasks are completed on time, and may also be tasked with implementing new ways to streamline processes or improve efficiency within their department.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Answers service and referral calls and responds to customer questions and assists with service transactions.
- Verifies that daily proofs and reconciliations are compliant with corporate accounting and control policies.
- Validates accuracy of payments, tickets and online entries.
- Provides solutions to customer, branch or bank inquiries and escalates issues as necessary.
- Considers multiple resources and records when investigating customer inquiries.
- Handles more complex transactions and balances general ledger accounts.
- Ensures work is properly safeguarded and controlled in accordance with banking policies and procedures.

The Banking Operations Specialist II on the Special Processing Team assists with daily operations in consumer and commercial banking by handling tasks related to Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs) and deceased accounts. Responsibilities include processing IRA and deceased accounts, account maintenance, research, and opening basic IRA accounts. The role supports other banking professionals to ensure critical tasks are completed on time and works under supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior banking back-office operations experience
- Preferred IRA knowledge and processing.
- Previous account opening experience, including retirement accounts.
- Ability to process client requests for distributions, contributions, conversions, and beneficiary changes for Individual retirement accounts.
- Previous account research and account maintenance experience - including IRA Beneficiary changes and deceased 1st notification.
Hybrid work is a minimum of four days a week, one flexible day for remote work.
