Overview
We are seeking a skilled Hand Cutter to join our dynamic Vinyl/Trim Cap team in a fast-paced manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of tooling and materials handling, with the ability to read blueprints and utilize various hand tools. As a Hand Cutter, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that materials are hand cut accurately and efficiently to meet production demands.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain all vinyl department printing equipment :( vinyl plotter, etc)
- Weeds, masks and applies vinyl materials to sign substrates.
- Operation of the following tools: X-acto knives, squeegees, rulers, jig saw, tape measure as well as other miscellaneous hand
- tools.
- Able to apply trim cap (flexible plastic molding) to letter or logo using acrylic plastic cement.
- Read and interpret drawings.
- Ensures safety and others through proper use and care of equipment/work area keeping it neat and clear of
- hazards.
Maintains tools and equipment in good working order and stores them properly.
Skills
- Proficient in blueprint reading and interpreting technical specifications.
- Strong knowledge of tooling techniques and materials handling processes.
- Experience with SolidWorks or similar CAD software is a plus.
- Familiarity with basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
- Ability to work effectively with hand tools and machinery in an assembly line environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills, capable of troubleshooting minor issues during the cutting process.
- A commitment to maintaining safety standards in the workplace.
