Team Leader of Mainstream Casualty Claims will lead a team of claims professionals handling medium and some high exposure general liability, commercial auto, excess and umbrella claims, on behalf of Everest Insurance companies. This position will report directly to the Vice President, Mainstream Lead Western Zone of U.S. Casualty Claims. Responsibilities include all aspects of managing complex casualty claims, including but not limited to: Developing, maintaining, sharing, and executing Claims Handling Best Practices. Establishing team goals, objectives and metrics regarding individual performance and ensuring that goals and objectives are aligned with Company strategies and initiatives. Developing and executing claims resolution strategies. Working collaboratively to guide the large loss process, providing strategic and substantive input to ensure that all reporting requirements and quality control standards are met. Tracking and monitoring status of key cases and associated expenses and adhere to protocols for the timely reporting and elevation of same within the team. Presenting significant cases to the senior management and keep them advised of any material subsequent developments, Identifying and advising senior management regarding claim trends and emerging issues. Partnering with other Casualty Claims Managers in developing, conducting and/or facilitating technical training of Casualty Claims staff, ensuring the highest quality standards for content and presentation are met. Managing relationships with critical external litigation support constituents including outside counsel, experts and other vendors. Communicating regularly with underwriters, insureds, brokers, reinsurers, and actuaries; Attending client meetings and industry functions to support retention and development of client relationships and business. Supporting underwriting inquiries; providing data on loss trends and claim activity; assisting in risk assessments. Collaborating with Ceded Reinsurance team; ensuring that all reporting requirements are understood and adhered to by team. Qualifications, Education & Experience: Deep industry knowledge and experience with specialization in complex Casualty claims. Minimum of 7 years of claims handling and/or claims management experience with demonstrated experience handling medium to high exposure, complex claims. Outstanding oral and written skills with ability to communicate complex facts and critical issues clearly and succinctly. Excellent presentation skills with experience presenting to senior executives. Highly collaborative, open mindset with ability to deftly manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Strategic thinker with innovative and solution-oriented approach to conflict resolution. Four-year degree required. JD preferred. For CA and NY: The base salary range for this position is $120,000 - $200,000 annually. The offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, experience, qualifications and work location.
