Job Overview
As the Hospice Director of Nursing (RN) for Everest Hospice, you will take on a dynamic role in overseeing and administering all aspects of our day-to-day operations. You will work closely with established goals, objectives, policies, and regulations of our esteemed company. Your responsibilities will include ensuring compliance with all hospice-specific regulations, laws, and policies, including those related to Medicare matters. Under the guidance of senior management, you will expertly manage the affairs of our AZ Goodyear office, making a significant impact on the lives of patients and their families during difficult times.
Duties
- The Hospice DON is a Registered Nurse who manages all aspects of terminal care and has expertise in pain and symptom management and previous experience in hospice nursing.
- Supervise patient and family care as specified by the plan of care, assessing appropriateness, continuity, service, and quality of care
- The Hospice DON must have excellent communication skills and the ability to execute an effective, supportive sensitive approach in response to needs of the employees and the patients and their families.
- The Hospice DON supervises the day-to-day office and clinical operations as well as the planning, coordination, and delivery of the interdisciplinary team interventions.
- Ensure the execution of operations are completed daily. Manage operations, services, personnel performance, and office management ongoing.
- Review documentation for compliance with HIPAA regulations and organizational standards. Ensure compliance with hospice regulations and policies and procedures.
- Ensure adherence to the rules and regulations of state and federal regulatory agencies
Qualifications:
- Must be a Registered Nurse (RN) and registered in the (AZ) state of practice
- Must have a valid driver’s license and auto liability insurance.
- Registered Nurse with minimum of 2-3 years in healthcare required, preferably in Hospice setting.
- Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred. BSN a plus.
- HCHB experience preferred but not required
- Experience in leadership or management strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of hospice regulations and documentation requirements
- Must possess a valid state driver license, maintain automobile liability insurance as required by law. Must maintain dependable transportation
- Experience with pain and symptom management.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Requirements
- Valid nursing license (RN ) in the state of practice.
- 2-3 yrs experience in hospice care preferred.
- Strong understanding of resident rights and ethical considerations in healthcare.
- Proficient in documentation review and maintaining accurate patient records.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively within a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of nurse management principles and systems used in healthcare settings.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and confidentiality.
