Job Summary: To support our market expansion in North America, we are currently looking for an Assistant Vice President of Property Facultative Underwriting. This is a hybrid position working 3 days in office, 2 remote in either Atlanta, GA, New York, NY, Chicago, IL or Philadelphia, PA offices. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Manage and underwrite a large book of national risks over various occupancies through the broker channel on a pro rata and excess basis. Develop new business opportunities in order to achieve company goals for growth and profitability. Work with all functional areas of the company including claims, accounting, actuarial and product management to support company objectives. Adhere to pricing and selection standards that supports strategic objectives and achieve desired financial goals. Maintain awareness of competitor capabilities and strategies, as well as the overall insurance marketplace. Referral approver once underwriting authority is obtained. Assist in developing junior staff. Assist with managing risk on a portfolio basis. Assist with improvement of underwriting processes and procedures. Experience and Qualifications: Bachelor's degree preferred. Experience as a senior underwriter with 10 years of experience focusing on property facultative underwriting. Large general property, complex risk and B&M underwriting experience preferred. Flexibility to market and travel up to 20%. The ability to interpret catastrophe modeling and actuarial methodologies and output. Must possess established relationships with brokers and direct markets. Capable of managing a large portfolio. Knowledge of attritional loss costs. Strong decision-making skills. For NYC Only: The base salary range for this position is $160,000 - $210,000 annually.
