What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manufacturing Engineer/CNC Programmer position at Everest Search Partners?
Our client is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer who can work with the Sales, Supply Chain, and Operations team to competitively quote all machining and fabrication jobs.
Major Responsibilities
- Prepare materials, labor and equipment cost estimations necessary to successfully carry out a project according to proposals, plans, estimates and specifications.
- Prepare runs times utilizing available planning software.
- Prepare and/or coordinate the preparation of full cost estimates on conceptual, client requests.
- Work with suppliers to obtain cost estimates and ensure product specification are being met.
- Create job router in Epicor with setup & production times to meet quoted hourly rate.
- Preparing customer quotations for sales
- Ability to understand customer requirements, design, and engineering specifications.
- Work with operation programmer for tooling/fixture to adhere to the run times per the job traveler.
- Work closely with our programmers to audit and vet programs
- Support project purchasing as required.
Skills Required
- Must have 3 years of machine shop experience.
- 3 years experience in estimating.
- Strong CNC programming
- Completion of College/Technical Training or equivalent.
- Must have a proven background in machine shop operations and be capable of preparing complete costing estimates.
- Capable of reading and understanding engineered drawings and documents.
- Knowledge of fabrication and welding.
- Excellent time management, planning and organization skills and ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Efficient at Solidworks, Auto Cad, Fusion, Mastercam and Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, SharePoint)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Knowledge of steel and CNC machining is critical to this position.
