This is a hybrid position working 3 days onsite, 2 remote.

Job Summary:
The Latin American and Caribbean Property Facultative Team of Everest Reinsurance Company, a member of the Everest Re Group, Ltd. is looking for a Senior Underwriter to join our Miami, FL office.
This is a hybrid position working 3 days onsite, 2 remote.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Manage and underwrite an assigned book of business and develop new business to achieve company goals for growth and profit.
- Work collaboratively with Latam Property and Energy facultative underwriters on all aspects of rating and processing new and renewal business.
- Follow guidelines and implement departmental strategies to achieve budget, profitability goals and exposure management.
- Manage broker relationships and client development. Build relationships with intermediaries to increase the flow of submissions and written premium.
- Marketing that includes travel as needed.
- Maintain awareness of competitor capabilities and strategies, as well as the overall insurance marketplace.
- Bachelors’ Degree or higher
- Minimum 5 to 8 years’ experience working in the US or international insurance or reinsurance industry including at least 5 years of Property and Energy facultative reinsurance underwriting experience.
- CPCU or other relevant industry courses are helpful.
- Skilled at analysis of all aspects of facultative program structures.
- Experience negotiating complex facultative programs and dealing with senior clients and executives.
- Fluent in English and Spanish required. Proficiency in Portuguese or other languages is a plus.
- Comfortable taking initiative to achieve objectives and open to receiving feedback from colleagues and peers.
- Must be comfortable working with computers and skilled at basic Microsoft suite programs: Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
- Practical knowledge of the international reinsurance marketplace is required. Prior international travel for business development is a plus.
- Must have excellent communication and analytical skills. Strong decision-making-skills are also required.
- Demonstrated leadership, management, delegation, and training skills.
- Should be comfortable multi-tasking and changing/balancing priorities, working under pressure and deadlines.
