Position Title: Re-Engagement and Gateway Specialist

Position Summary:
The Re-Engagement Specialist provides comprehensive leadership and support to ensure the success of students at risk of dropping out or those who have previously disengaged from traditional education. This role involves implementing targeted intervention strategies, overseeing alternative educational programs, and fostering partnerships to improve student
retention and achievement. The position requires collaboration with schools, families, and community organizations to support students in completing their high school requirement to earn their diplomas.

This role includes managing the Gateway to College program, which enables students to complete high school while earning college credit. This includes program oversight, operational management, instructional leadership, and cultivating partnerships to ensure the program's long-term sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:
? Monitor and track student progress towards graduation and develop a post graduation plan and/or a path to a diploma or certificate wherever appropriate.
? Partner with guidance counselors and administrators to identify school based strategies and solutions to address dropout prevention and tier one intervention support.
? Develop a transition plan for students and assist students and families in the referral process.
? Monitor students’ progress in their virtual learning through the Ingenuity platform
? Act as the liaison between the student and all educational systems (teachers, administrators,college representatives).
? Establish and sustain partnerships with community agencies and work to connect both students and families to support services that will help to address educational barriers.
? Develop a comprehensive post graduation plan for each student in alternative programming.
? Conduct exit interviews for students who are dropping out of Everett Public Schools and thoroughly coach students through all available resources and channels to remain enrolled and engaged.
? Support the dropout intervention re-design work by establishing a set of academic and social emotional interventions and establish the tools, procedures, and processes for providing the interventions.
? Align program policies with district and Gateway to College National Network standards.

? Oversee outreach, selection, and retention efforts to maintain enrollment goals.
? Promote the program through community engagement and school partnerships.
? Collaborate with stakeholders to align curriculum with diploma and degree requirements.
? Establish and sustain partnerships with community agencies to address educational barriers.

Serve as a liaison between families, students, and educational systems to ensure consistent
support.

Working Time:
This is a full-time, exempt position requiring flexible hours to monitor student progress and

conduct check-ins.

Salary:
Compensation is commensurate with experience and education.

Required Qualifications:
? Associate's Degree (Bachelor’s preferred in Education, Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or related fields).
? Bilingual in Spanish and/or Portuguese.
? Strong communication, case management, and data analysis skills.
? Ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and implement interventions.
? Experience working with vulnerable populations and a holistic approach to student support.
? Proficiency in technology systems (e.g., Google Classroom, Aspen X2).
? Access to a vehicle for travel as needed.

Preferred Experience:
? Minimum of three years in an urban school district with a focus on Social-Emotional Learning or academic interventions.
? Knowledge of trauma-informed practices and positive youth development principles.
