Position Title: Director of Events and Strategic Initiatives
Position Summary:
Reporting directly to the Superintendent, the Director of Events and Strategic Initiatives would oversee both event planning and strategic project management, requiring a strong understanding of both areas to drive organizational goals. This role involves planning, executing, and evaluating events, as well as developing and managing strategic initiatives that align with the organization's mission and objectives. The Director would also be responsible for managing budgets and timelines, and ensuring successful project outcomes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of EPS events from conception through execution in multiple locations throughout the District, including pre-meetings/planning, developing event timelines, special requests, and post-event completion.
- Effectively prioritized and managed multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines under pressure.
- Spearhead special projects and ensure smooth operations through coordinated teamwork. Subsequently, assess the impact by tracking key success metrics.
- Coordinate with departments and school personnel across the district to ensure all event details are addressed and completed.
- Works collaboratively with Maintenance, Public Safety, Dining Services, and Media Technology Services to prepare for events and for day-of execution.
- Participates in evaluating budgets and contractual provisions to determine requirements for space, location, technology, equipment, accommodations, catering, and on-site management.
- Facilitate educational ceremonies and events.
- Collaborating with senior leadership to ensure strategic goals align with the organization's overall vision.
- May include required evening or weekend hours based on event and staffing needs.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required. Master's degree preferred.
- Five years of experience in planning large- and small-scale events.

Compensation and Schedule:
- Salary: Commensurate with experience.
- Employment Type: Full-time, exempt, 12-month salaried position.
- This position is performed fully-onsite with the Everett Public Schools and is not a remote or hybrid position.
