EPS K-8 Title I Summer Acceleration Academy Site Coordinators
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Title I Summer Acceleration Academy provides structured
academic programming in ELA and Math for students in grades K-8 during the summer.
Students will receive instruction on grade-level topics in ELA and Math. The program will be free
and held at the Parlin, Madeline English, Keverian, and Lafayette from 7:45 am-12:30 pm. The
Acceleration Academy is funded through Title I and will serve students identified as most at-risk
through the mid-year and end-year ELA and math data.
WORKING TIMES:
? 28 Days of summer school (July 1–3 and July 7–August 8, 2025)
? Monday–Friday, 7:15 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
? Every Wednesday, 12:30-1:30 PM program meeting
? 40 additional hours for program administration prior to and after the program ends
? Required training dates June 17 and June 18th, 8 AM-3:00 PM (Dates tentative based
on last day of school)
REMUNERATION:
$40/hr, total stipend amount up to $8700
NUMBER OF OPENINGS:
1 per site
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
? Recruit, select, background, recommend, supervise, and direct summer school staff.
? Supervise the implementation of the district curriculum during the program and support
the implementation of specific literacy-based strategies.
? Train summer school staff and provide orientation.
? Track summer school compensation and timesheets.
? Establish and promote programming dates and offerings via multiple channels, including
social media and Family Liaisons.
? Coordinate facilities use, transportation, technology, and custodial services.
? Manage curriculum and material budgets and purchases
? Coordinate with school nurse to plan for student health needs
? Oversee registration process, rostering, and grouping students based on needs and
enrichment programs.
? Communicate with staff and parents.
? Outreach to students and families as needed to ensure daily attendance of registered
students.
? Manage coverage of the program as needed when teachers are absent.
? Provide coverage of classrooms due to staff absences as needed.
? Collaborate with teachers to support students’ behavioral and other social-emotional
learning needs.
? Manage student attendance and behavior interventions.
? Coordinate with food services to deliver breakfast and lunch to students.
? Ensure orderly arrival and dismissal of students.
? Communicate with the Principal, Assistant Principals, and Manager of Extended
Learning in regard to any student and building concerns.
? Perform such other duties and assume all other responsibilities that may be assigned by
the Principals, Assistant Principals, Superintendent, Assistant Superintendents, and the
Manager of Extended Learning.
REQUIREMENTS:
? Bachelor’s Degree in Education and/or Liberal Arts
? Massachusetts Teaching Licensure in Elementary Education, Middle School, Early
Childhood, Special Education, English as a Second Language, or related fields including
Administrative Areas.
? SEI Endorsement
? Massachusetts Teaching License
? Current EPS employee in good standing with at least 3 years of experience in a public
school setting.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
? Master’s Degree in Education
? 3 or more years of elementary or middle school teaching experience
? Massachusetts Administrative License and/or progress toward CAGS certification
? At least 1 year of administrative experience overseeing programmatic operations for
student-serving programming
? Previous experience working in Extended Learning programs - after school, before
school, summer learning, Acceleration Academies, tutoring, etc.
? Foreign Language Proficiency
? Dual Licensure and/or relevant experience in Special Education and/or English as a
Second Language
