Middle School Science Teacher - Grade 7, Sumner G. Whittier School
Description :
Middle school science teachers are responsible for utilizing research-based pedagogical
strategies to teach and engage diverse groups of students in grade seven. Middle school teachers
must work collaboratively with their school based team and fellow science teachers and the K-8
Director of STEM and Science Coach throughout the year to continually improve the experience
and performance of our students. Teachers should be well versed in Massachusetts Middle
School Science Standards, as well as Sheltered English Instruction (SEI) practices and Universal
Design to ensure access to content for all students. Teachers must exercise culturally responsive
practices to promote equity and respect for all students.
Requirements :
- Bachelor's Degree in Science and / or Education
- Massachusetts Teaching Licensure
- SEI Endorsement

Duties :
hybrid model applicable to the 24-25 school year model.
lessons that are linked with 21st Century skills and remote accessibility
students and limit disruptions
target the academic and linguistics needs of students including MCAS and ACCESS, as
well as district wide formative assessments
Writing that align with State Standards for Language Proficiency
linguistics needs of students
appropriate safety protocols and necessary training
strategies that promote two-way conversations
relevant to the challenges of urban education in order to close opportunity gaps
Emotional support
ensure all accommodations are properly and consistently delivered

in accordance with the Everett Public School's Teachers Association Contract.
