Pay Rate: $18/Hr
Schedule: Mon-Friday 6:00 am–2:30pm, Hours are heavier earlier in the week, with Fridays off if no work available.

Job Summary
The Tissue Technician on the Tissue Floor is responsible for following procedures to humanely collect tissue and process orders, achieving goals set by the Tissue Supervisor on line speed, and quality of work. This position contributes to Tissue Floor operations running safely, smoothly, efficiently, cleanly and humanely. Employees must remain in compliance at all times, and contribute to team efforts.
Essential Functions And Basic Duties
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: High School Diploma or GED Equivalent, 4 year Animal Science or Biology degree preferred.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge of working in a harvest facility preferred but not required
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Experience in a harvest facility preferred not required
Skills/Abilities
Ability to work independently as part of the team.
Work in a fast-paced environment where accuracy and efficiency are key components
Ability to be self-motivated
Ability to ensure quality product to our customers
Other Requirements
PHYSICAL STRENGTH: Able to lift and/or carry > 50 lbs
LANGUAGE ABILITY: Proficient in English

Job Summary

Essential Functions And Basic Duties
- Participate in the preparation of the tissue floor, workstation, equipment, and tools prior to start of processing.
- Safe, efficient, and precise use of cutting knives and tools in trained areas.
- Cross train in other abattoir areas and activities as needed.
- Comply with HAACP Plan, USDA guidelines, Humane Handling Procedure and MRS procedures and report any non-compliance to management.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Proper PPE use, care, maintenance and cleanliness.
- Avoid cross contamination between dirty and clean areas or areas outside production floor.
- Follow GMP and sanitation practices when maintaining and cleaning harvest floor equipment.
- Take on additional responsibilities as directed by management.
- Demonstrate effective communication skills.
- Interact professionally with team members and contract personnel.
