Job Summary

The Customer Service Representative provides outstanding support to our customers and ensure seamless internal collaboration. This role requires excellent communication skills, proficiency in inventory control systems, and the ability to identify and meet customer needs efficiently. The CSR will play a key role in parts ordering, cross-departmental coordination, and maintaining strong relationships with our customers.

Key Responsibilities :

Customer Support :

  • Act as the first point of contact for customers via phone, email, and in-person interactions.
  • Identify customer needs, provide accurate information about products / services, and offer appropriate solutions.
  • Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback with professionalism and a customer-focused mindset.

Inventory Control and Parts Ordering :

  • Utilize inventory control systems to monitor stock levels and ensure the availability of parts to meet customer demands.
  • Coordinate with the inventory team to track, order, and restock parts efficiently.
  • Maintain detailed records of inventory transactions and provide regular updates to the appropriate departments.
  • Cross-Departmental Collaboration :

  • Work closely with sales, technical support, and operations teams to resolve customer issues and fulfill requests.
  • Ensure clear communication and coordination between departments to meet service goals and timelines.
  • Provide feedback to relevant teams about customer trends and inventory challenges to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Administrative and Reporting Tasks :

  • Prepare and maintain accurate records of customer interactions, sales orders, and inventory movements.
  • Generate reports on customer activity, order status, and inventory trends for management review.
  • Support additional administrative duties as required to maintain smooth departmental operations.
  • Qualifications :

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred).
  • 2 years of experience in customer service, inventory management, or related roles, preferably in the Marine / Boat Building industry.
  • Proficiency in inventory control systems and CRM software.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven problem-solving skills with a focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Preferred Skills :

  • Familiarity with parts ordering processes and inventory management best practices.
  • Experience collaborating across various departments within an organization.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess customer needs and suggest effective solutions.
  • Physical Requirements :

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate with others both verbally and in writing.
  • Constantly operates a computer, phone, and other related office machinery.
  • Regularly required to sit; occasionally required to stand / walk / move about the office and facility.
  • Occasionally must lift and / or move up to 35 pounds.
  • Will be required to wear appropriate PPE if moving about the production areas.
  • Work Environment :

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be moderate to loud and is non-climate controlled.
