Job Summary:
Rural Neighborhoods, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit housing and community development organization, seeks a Maintenance Technician that will conduct and support different maintenance activities at a Housing Community in order to drive company success and provide the residents in the community with excellent customer service by promptly addressing work order requests.
The Maintenance Technician must have solid attention to detail, and excellent knowledge of how to repair and replace household appliances, electrical and plumbing fixtures. Good deductive reasoning, the ability to work independently and strong problem solving skills are essential to the role.
Responsibilities:
- Complete maintenance requests and projects and maintain property grounds and office clean.
- Collect trash and debris from the site grounds by daily inspecting the property grounds.
- Create a welcoming environment for our residents by ensuring our units are well maintained by completing work order requests, general repairs, preventative maintenance and inspections.
- Appliance troubleshooting, light plumbing and electrical repairs, light carpentry, windows repairs, prepping and painting vacant units, basic HVAC repairs and maintenance.
- Be available and willing to assist colleagues at sister properties and management when necessary.
- Provide cross-coverage when necessary to ensure urgent issues are addressed.
- Be available on nights, weekends and holidays, for emergency response, and as part of a team to cover for emergency repairs.
- Vacant Units’ complete turnover.
- Responsible for parts and supplies inventory and assessment of supplies needed for property upkeeping, maintenance and units’ turnover.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
Skills and Experience Requirements:
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Two years of basic, property maintenance experience.
- Reliable transportation, insurance, and valid driver license.
- Ability to assess problems and provide solutions.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and Holiday as needed, to support the needs of the property.
- Reasonable comfort level with Computers and smart devices. Ability to check email on a daily basis.
- Ability to regularly lift over 20 lbs.
- HVAC Certification highly preferred.

Full time, hourly, non-exempt.
