Assistant General Manager
Location: McDowell Mountain Golf Club – Scottsdale, AZ
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant General Manager with a strong focus on golf operations to join our team. This leadership role is pivotal in overseeing the daily operations of all departments, with a particular emphasis on delivering a best-in-class golf experience. It also serves as a development path toward a future General Manager position.
This role is a launchpad to becoming a General Manager. You'll work alongside top leadership, gaining the experience and skills needed to eventually run a club yourself. If you’re ambitious, service-driven, and ready to lead, this is your next move.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with the General Manager to oversee daily club operations and develop leadership skills across all departments.
- Lead daily golf operations, including tee times, pace of play, cart fleet, and practice facilities.
- Deliver exceptional guest experiences by setting the standard for professionalism, responsiveness, and hospitality.
- Plan and run tournaments and events, from scheduling to execution to post-event wrap-up.
- Hire, train, and lead golf operations staff, creating a positive and high-performing team culture.
- Manage golf shop inventory and coordinate procurement to keep merchandise stocked and appealing.
- Collaborate with the grounds crew to ensure top-notch course conditions.
- Assist with budgeting and financial oversight, helping maximize revenue and meet goals.
- Ensure compliance and safety, upholding all club standards and industry regulations.
- Identify ways to improve operations, enhance service, and drive innovation across the golf experience.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in golf operations management.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team of staff.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in golf management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
