Job Summary:
This position is responsible for providing personal care and delegated services designed to maintain the client’s physical and emotional well being. This position is responsible for keeping the building in a clean, sanitary, orderly, attractive condition and to provide a pleasant living environment for the clients. This position is responsible for providing minimal dietary services to clients, such as serving prepared meals. This position is responsible for planning, developing and providing a quality Activity/Socialization Program designed to assist tenants in using their personal potential both physically and mentally.

Qualifications:

  • Customer Service oriented.
  • Follow/adhere to federal, state and facility regulations and policies.
  • Able to perform basic math equations.
  • Able to read, write, spell and understand English (ESL 5 or higher)
  • Adheres to company dress code.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Assist clients with personal cares such as shampooing hair, assist with showering, lotioning, fingernail cares and foot cares if instructed to do so by an RN, medication administration and reminders, redirection of a confused clients, and other cares as delegated by RN

  • Assist clients with dressing, grooming and oral cares
  • Assist clients in use of hearing aids and glasses
  • Help clients reach and maintain their highest level of performance and independence.
  • Assist with treatments as delegated by the Registered Nurse according to the client’s individualized care plan
  • Observe client and report changes in physical and emotional condition such as change in attitude, loss of appetite, weight, etc
  • Take and record temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respirations as instructed by RN. Reports changes or concerns to RN
  • Perform medication administration or reminders as delegated by RN. Notify RN of any prn medications given to client
  • Must be flexible and adaptable to changing situations
  • Serve meals as directed, following special meal plans if instructed
  • Attend in-service training annually and as assigned
  • Dust, vacuum, mop, dishwashing, and other cleaning chores as scheduled and assigned.
  • Demonstrate ability to properly use chemicals. Understands and adheres to building Right to Know Policy and possesses knowledge of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for chemicals used to perform functions of job.
  • Ability to observe Universal Precautions and Infection Control procedures.
  • Understands and follows Vulnerable Adults Act and Abuse Policy.
  • Ability to give constant attention to detail to complete thorough cleaning.
  • Must be able to prioritize and organize work efficiently to accomplish workload within time allotted.
  • Must respond appropriately to safety hazards, fire drills, and emergency situations.
  • Reports injuries/accidents to supervisor immediately.
  • Leads client activities as scheduled.
  • Must be compassionate and work with tact and ethical awareness.
  • Must be punctual, with satisfactory attendance record. Provides proper notice of tardiness or absence.
  • Documents in a timely, accurate manner.
  • Follows dress code, maintains good personal hygiene and grooming.
  • Supports Evergreen Place/Pine Haven philosophy of focusing on client, family, and community.
  • Works cooperatively to provide total quality care to client.
  • Works with client and family in a compassionate and understanding manner.
  • Participates in in-service and educational programs for own education and as required by state and federal guidelines.
  • Adheres to all Evergreen Place/Pine Haven policies and procedures.

Work Environment:

Works in client’s apartments and common areas of building including laundry room and serving kitchen

Position Requirements:

  • Must be able to speak, read, and write English
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Pay: $18.50 - $23.28 per hour
