INTERVENTION PARAEDUCATOR
LOCATION : Covington Middle School
REPORTS TO : Instructor / Building Principal
DEPARTMENT : Federal Programs
Hours / Work Times
1 Hour Per Day (2 : 00 p.m. - 3 : 00 p.m.)
1 Hour Early Release Days (9 : 00 a.m. - 10 : 00 a.m.)
190 Days Per Year (180 student days / 10 holidays)
This position will remain open until a qualified applicant is selected. The earliest date a recommendation for hire may be submitted is after 09 / 30 / 2024.
Must meet Paraeducator Employment Requirements as follows
- Be at least eighteen (18) years of age and hold a high school diploma or its equivalent; AND
- Must meet one or more of the following :
- Have received a passing score of 455 or higher on the Education Testing Service ParaPro Assessment (ETS test / PRAXIS); or
- Hold an Associate Degree or higher from an accredited college or university; or
- Have earned 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits at 100 level or higher at an accredited college or university; or
- Have completed a Paraeducator Apprenticeship Program (program must be registered with the Washington State Apprenticeship and Training Council).
- If you do not meet the required qualifications listed above, your name will be screened out from the list of qualified candidates .
Upon hire, new paraeducators will be required to complete state required training offered through Evergreen School District.

SUMMARY STATEMENT :
Under the supervision of the building Principal, the Intervention Paraeducator will assist in the delivery of instructional activities, working closely with students on an individual as well as a small group basis. They will collaborate with administrators, teachers and counselors in the delivery of a tutoring program to assist students in reaching and maintaining academic and behavioral success.
