Primary Function : Provides oversight of a small therapeutic child services center for young children of mothers receiving residential treatment for substance use disorder.
Responsibilities :
- Create and maintain a climate in the center that acknowledges and respects the integrity of each child, encourages exploration and learning, and supports development of positive self-image.
- Implements curricula, including structured early childhood prevention programming, congruent with state regulations under WAC 170-295, contract requirements and organizational policies and procedures.
- Assist parents in learning nurturing and appropriate methods of parental control.
- Maintain necessary child files, attendance records and illness logs with appropriate and complete documentation.
- Complete orientation with new admissions to daycare center and ensure all necessary registration forms are completed.
- Maintain the arrangement, appearance, décor and learning environment of the classroom; complete maintenance requests as needed.
- Provide leadership to other workers in the program and assist Daycare Director in hiring and evaluation of staff for the center.
- Develop a written Individual Development Plan (IDP) appropriate for each child in the center.
- Complete Parenting Plan for each client and a Denver Assessment for each child within two weeks of enrollment.
- Provide observations to Child Protective Services and other DSHS officials and report injury or potential child abuse in accordance with laws and agency policy. Complete incident reports in accordance with Evergreen Recovery Centers procedures.
- Prepare snack menus and maintain their files.
- Satisfactorily complete required trainings and maintain current certificate in child CPR / First Aid.
- Attend all assigned staff and organizational meetings.
- Prepare supplies and equipment orders for approval of Daycare Director.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
