Description
At Evergreen, we're in business to change the world. Evergreen was originally founded in 1998 to provide a sustainable, reliable supply of quality polyester resin. Each year, Evergreen recycles billions of PET bottles, keeping them out of landfills, oceans, rivers, forests, and roadways. We also produce hundreds of millions of pounds of recycled PET plastic that goes into new bottles and other products.
There's another important side to Evergreen. We partner with municipal and commercial recycling facilities as well as business and industrial customers, accepting recyclable material and offering rebates for PET bottles and other PET material. This material is then sorted and made ready for other uses. The end goal is to make landfills a thing of the past, help customers achieve sustainability goals and make the circular economy possible for all of us.
MAJOR FUNCTIONS :
Identify consumption and production material styles
Packaging of finished product
Recording accurate log maintenance
Operation of large equipment
Activate and adjust extruding machines
RESPONSIBILITIES :
Read and follow the production schedule.
Follow proper packaging procedures for finished product.
Measure and record accurate data, while maintaining legible logs.
Perform proper screen change and screen pack audit procedures.
Responsible for operating and adjusting the pelletizer.
Operation of Extrusion and Dryer line equipment : Start up / shut down.
Adjust feed rate and equipment speeds.
Perform duties in a safe manner in compliance with all local, state, and federalregulations and company policies.
Report system problems immediately to management.
Maintain an excellent attendance record and an excellent safety and work quality record.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Awareness of basic job functions and responsibilities.
Ability to operate department equipment with minimal assistance.
Ability to perform physical requirements of the job (prolonged physical exertions including continuous visual and mental attention, standing, reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, lifting up to 50lbs, carrying and climbing).
Self-starter, aggressive work ethic and ability to work with minimal supervision.
Safety conscious.
Ability to be flexible to work any shift and / or to adjust shift when necessary.
Ability to work in various conditions with exposure to weather elements.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
Legally eligible to work in the United States.
Must be able to read and speak the English language well enough to communicate, understand, and respond to questions, instructions, signs, signals, and safety training.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Exposure to weather elements.
Exposure to dust, noise, heat, cold, and fumes found in a shop environment.
This position requires approximately 12 hours per day standing and / or walking.
