Job Summary

The Laborer / Traffic Control Regulator (TCR) reports to the Foreman/Supervisor to receive daily instructions. The Laborer/TCR can expect to fill any Laborers or Traffic Control positions including, box-man and hook-man. They may also be assigned to any other jobs that would support the crew that he/she may be qualified to perform.

Job Functions

• Shoveling, raking, mop/lute, and moving and loading materials
• Operate equipment as needed as well as assist in maintaining equipment
• Act as a key contributor to the culture by ensuring compliance with company safety policies and procedures
• General pavement construction laborers’ duties and other tasks as assigned
• Regulate road traffic on job sites to ensure employee and citizen safety as well as project productivity

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Must demonstrate strong teamwork skills
• Ability to effectively communicate (verbal and written communication) with management, staff, and outside entities as well as follow verbal and written instructions in English
• Safety consciousness
• Knowledge of construction principles, techniques, and procedures strongly preferred

Experience, Education and Other Requirements

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
• Willingness and ability to travel and work overtime, when needed
• Must possess a valid driver's license
• Class B CDL preferred
• Must have history of safe driving record
• Must pass a criminal background check, routine physical and drug screen
• Physical Requirements Include: Ability to safely walk long distances, stand for extended periods, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, see and hear. • Must be able to work in a variety of work environments including, outdoors in a variety of weather conditions as well as in and around mobile equipment, noise, dust, and traffic.
