Job Overview
Evergreen StormH2O is a rapidly growing water resources engineering and environmental services consulting firm that focuses on stormwater management projects. We are looking for a Technical Writer/Editor to join a motivated and supportive team that mentors and empowers its employees. This is a part-time and remote position. Washington State residence is required.
Essential Duties and Primary Responsibilities
- The Technical Writer/Editor will split their time between editing deliverables and contributing to reports, guidance manuals, and other written documents, as needed
- Develop written content for manuals, reports, and planning documents which may include independently conducting and summarizing research, generating innovative text with minimal instruction or direction, and synthesizing technical content to be easily understood by broad or targeted audiences.
- Edit technical engineering and scientific reports, for grammatical accuracy, consistent voice, organization, and formatting
- Develop standard templates for documents, including assisting technical staff with developing the document, and providing reviews of documents through final production and distribution
- Prepare, produce, and edit marketing materials including statements of qualifications (SOQs), proposals, and presentations
- Prepare resumes, project descriptions, firm information, and graphics as required to support marketing efforts
Qualifications
- 5 years of professional experience preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, English, or related field
- Experience working collaboratively with engineers and scientists
- Working knowledge of the following software: Microsoft Office Suite (emphasis on Microsoft Word and PowerPoint), and Adobe products including InDesign
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
- Flexible and motivated to work with, and take direction from, different professional staff as well as work independently
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Skilled at working with deadline pressure and multi-tasking without a loss in quality
