Job Summary
Evergreen Veterinary Hospital is a growing independent veterinary practice in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Asheville, North Carolina. We pride ourselves on excellent medicine and a high level of client service. We are looking for a highly motivated associate veterinarian interested in practicing a high standard of medicine with a focus on patient comfort, low stress, and client service. All levels of experience will be considered as our goals are to find a veterinarian with a sound work ethic and excellent character. We are seeking a veterinarian with excellent communication, interpersonal and team dynamic skills.
We seek an associate veterinarian to serve our existing clients as well as build new client relationships through wellness care, medicine, dental and surgery.
Duties
- Conduct thorough examinations of animals to assess their health and diagnose any conditions.
- Administer vaccinations and medications as needed.
- Perform surgical procedures, including animal catheterization and other critical interventions.
- Utilize aseptic techniques during surgeries and other medical procedures to prevent infection.
- Maintain accurate medical records for each patient, documenting treatments and progress.
- Collaborate with veterinary technicians and support staff to ensure optimal patient care.
- Provide emergency veterinary critical care when necessary, including triage for urgent cases.
- Educate pet owners on preventive care, nutrition, and overall animal wellness.
- Stay current with advancements in veterinary medicine through continuous education.
Skills
- Proficient in animal handling techniques for various species, including dogs and equines.
- Strong knowledge of animal physiology and anatomy to effectively diagnose and treat conditions.
- Experience in laboratory procedures related to veterinary medicine.
- Ability to perform under pressure in critical care situations while maintaining a calm demeanor.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with pet owners and team members.
- Strong problem-solving skills to assess situations quickly and make informed decisions regarding treatment options.

Pay: $115,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
