Evergreen Washelli handles approximately 1,000 calls per year. We have our own prep room and crematory on site, as well as the largest cemetery in Seattle. We are part of the SCI family, a union firm, and take care of our own preparation work. We currently have an opening available for a full-time Funeral Director and Embalmer at Evergreen Washelli Funeral Home located in Seattle, WA, a premier location within the Dignity Memorial Network. This position is a unique opportunity for a qualified candidate. We assist client families in creating customized and meaningful events. This may include selecting merchandise and services to help provide a personal and purposeful celebration of the life. Our team also staff the Washelli Care Center. The candidate will also embalm, dress, cosmetize and casket deceased persons to help families have a meaningful goodbye. Our licensed funeral directors and embalmers are local 763 union members. Candidates must excel at presenting themselves in a sensitive and professional manner while maintaining the highest quality of service. A Washington State Funeral Director and Embalmer’s license is required, and one year of funeral arranging and embalming experience is a plus. Additionally, we are seeking an individual with the following attributes:
- Counsel with and coordinate desired arrangements with families and other third parties to carry out selected funeral and cremation services in a sensitive and professional manner.
- Assist families with the selection of appropriate and desired merchandise and/or services, ensuring that all options have been presented. Acute attention to detail with emphasis on innovation & creativity.
- Execute and finalize all financial arrangements for purchases of merchandise, services selected by families, including securing payment in accordance with company policy.
- Must be comfortable with the use of technology, be creative and solution minded.
- Insure all required paperwork is complete accurate and done in a timely manner.
- Maintain necessary licensure and/or other certification to meet any local, state, or federal regulations.
- Uphold the Dignity Standard, including policies and procedures set forth by the company.
- Maintain or exceed market average in JD Powers scores of 950 or above.
- Proficiency with HMIS and EDRS is a plus
- Bilingual is a plus
