Job Summary:

Responsible for information desk volunteer orientation, updates and ongoing training.
Primary Duties:
- Provides mentorship and coordinates volunteers assigned to staff the EvergreenHealth information desks to ensure a positive patient experience
- Coordinates daily/weekly information desk volunteer schedules; oversees attendance and serves as point of contact for calls from volunteers unable to cover assigned volunteer shift.
- Conducts information desk orientation for new volunteers. Tracks organizational orientation and training for new information desk volunteers.
- Mentors and guides the information desk volunteers on customer service techniques and behaviors by modeling friendly, accurate and efficient service to visitors.
- Reviews and updates information desk procedures on a regular basis and communicates updates to volunteers. Reviews and verifies volunteer annual competencies.
- Provides guidance to volunteers in researching questions, troubleshooting problems and resolving issues.
- Quickly assess situations to determine patient need for additional assistance (Charge RN, etc.) and respond with calling the appropriate emergency Code if needed.
REQUIRED for the position:
- High School graduate or equivalent
- Two years of customer service experience
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Ability to learn and lead customer service excellence processes and procedures.
- Ability to train and motivate others to provide excellent customer service
- Position requires patience, empathy, and ability to manage stressful situations
- Positive, cooperative attitude, friendly/outgoing disposition, engaging and demonstrated interest in assisting people.
- Ability to communicate effectively by phone and in person.
- Good organizational skills and the ability to work successfully with frequent interruptions.
