Everlast Wellness Group is hiring a seasoned Nurse Practitioner to join a brand new medical clinic!
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) plays a crucial role in providing high-quality and compassionate primary care healthcare services to the adult and geriatric population. As an integral member of the healthcare team, the NP will be responsible for delivering advanced nursing care, diagnosing and treating medical conditions, promoting health education, and collaborating with both their patients and other on-staff NPs. This position aims to improve patient outcomes with a holistic approach and enhance the overall healthcare experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including medical history, physical examination, and diagnostic tests.
- Diagnose and treat acute and chronic health conditions, incorporating evidence-based guidelines and clinical expertise.
- Prescribe and manage medications, treatments, and therapies based on individual patient needs.
- Develop and implement patient care plans, considering the patient's unique health status, preferences, and cultural background.
- Educate patients and their families about health maintenance, disease prevention, and self-management strategies.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging studies to facilitate accurate diagnoses.
- Collaborate with physicians, specialists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and holistic patient care.
- Monitor patients' progress and response to treatment, making necessary adjustments to care plans as needed.
- Provide counseling and support for patients dealing with chronic conditions or terminal illnesses.
- Participate in health promotion activities and community outreach programs to raise awareness and improve public health.
- Maintain complete patient documentation and finalize chart notes and results in a timely manner.
SPECIFICATIONS
Knowledge: Possess deep understanding of primary care practices, diagnosis, treatment modalities, and management of minor illnesses
- Requires the ability to discreetly handle details of highly confidential information in strict adherence to HIPAA patient confidentiality regulations.
Skills: Demonstrate excellent clinical and critical thinking skills, effective communication, and the ability to work collaboratively in a healthcare team.
- Passionate about nutrition and lifestyle counseling.
- Exceptional bedside manner with an emphasis on quality (time spent per visit) vs. quantity of patients.
- Passionate about reducing polypharmacy.
- Effectively navigate difficult conversations with patients regarding their condition.
Abilities: Show empathy, compassion, and professionalism in patient interactions; adept at multitasking and managing time efficiently.
Education: Hold a Master's or Doctorate degree in Nursing, with specialization as a Nurse Practitioner, and maintain a current state license and national certification.
Experience: Candidates must have 2 years prior experience as a Nurse Practitioner in an adult or geriatric patient setting.
- Integrated or functional medicine experience a plus.
- Ability to communicate clearly in English, bilingual a plus.
- Ability to operate basic office equipment and online applications (EMR, eRX, eFax, etc.), Kareo experience a plus.
COMPENSATION
This is a contractor position. No benefits included. Choose your own schedule. Opportunity for full-time position w/benefits package in future.
