Program Overview:
As an RF Power Electronics Engineer Intern, you will collaborate with the Advanced Development Group to develop cutting-edge RF power conversion architectures tailored for RF plasma generation applications. In this role, you’ll report to the Senior Principal Scientist, contributing to innovative projects and hands-on development in the RF domain.
You Will Make an Impact By:
- Assisting in the design and development of novel RF power generation systems that push the boundaries of plasma technology
- Performing RF power converter board layout, modeling, and simulations
- Building and testing RF hardware in the lab to verify system performance and validate design choices
- Conducting detailed analysis of RF power conversion circuits and components, including resonant power converters and high-frequency magnetics
- Collaborating closely with team members to ensure precision in technical communication and documentation
- Contributing to project discussions and brainstorming sessions, bringing a fresh perspective to advanced RF system challenges
Required Skills:
- Education: Masters or Ph.D. in RF power electronics or related field
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in RF power electronics
- Strong technical communication and research skills, capable of conveying complex technical concepts
- Solid understanding of power electronics fundamentals, especially in resonant power converters, switching devices, and RF engineering principles
- Proficiency in high-frequency magnetic component design and familiarity with core RF engineering concepts

- Proficiency with circuit and RF simulation software such as LTspice, Ansys, and Simulink
- Experience with PCB design tools (e.g., Altium, Eagle, KiCad)

- Hands-on experience building and testing RF hardware in a lab environment, including use of oscilloscopes, RF generators, and vector network analyzers
Compensation:
The typical hiring range for this role is $33-35/hr.
