What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director Gas Planning, Scheduling, and Resource Management position at EVERSOURCE?
Essential Functions:
- Collaborates with other Gas Operations Directors in developing a robust, consistent and fully integrated framework of work practices ensuring the delivery of service excellence and best in class processes.
- Establishes and implements best practices for planning, scheduling and resource management in order to optimize work schedules and resource allocation, ensures the delivery of Capex and Opex work plans, and supports work practices that are compliant with NU policies, procedures and standards, as well as federal, state and regulatory requirements.
- Oversees the development and implementation of programs designed to monitor resource levels against projections, performance and the progress and completion of projects. These programs will assist with the development of cost effective budgets and supports Gas Organizations’ achievement of high productivity, cost effectiveness and efficient work practices.
- Works with other Gas Operations Directors to manage, balance and coordinate external and internal resources required to meet short and long term objectives and performance goals.
- Directs the creation of high level and detailed forecasting models and work schedules required to support senior management in defining resource planning strategies while challenging existing ways of working and continuously seeking improved ways to achieve greater efficiencies.
- Oversees management of day-to-day relationship with contractors and other external service providers, including negotiation, interpretation and application of established contractual agreements and/or service level agreements to ensure adherence to standards and best outcomes for Gas Operations’ field activities.
- Develops and maintains effective relationships with key stakeholders in order to share best practices, drive consistency and ensure timely delivery of projects.
- Establishes and monitors goals, policies, plans, standards, performance objectives and budget for the Planning, Scheduling & Resource Management area in order to ensure alignment with both the Gas Organization and corporate goals.
- Oversees development of area staff. Develops a mindset of ownership and employee accountability for outcomes and consistent level of productivity and quality of work.
- Oversees the Leak Survey Department.
Technical Knowledge/Skill/Education/Licenses/Certifications:
Technical Knowledge/Skill:
Requires thorough knowledge of planning, scheduling and resource management. Also requires knowledge of design and construction of gas distribution facilities and equipment, as well as the codes and regulations that govern the operation and maintenance of the gas distribution system. Requires knowledge of the theoretical and practical application of project management techniques, tools and software.
Education:
Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, related discipline or equivalent experience. Master’s Degree or MBA preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of twelve (12) years gas distribution, utility or technical experience.
Working Conditions:
- Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required.
- Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.
- This position is categorized as safety-sensitive for the purpose of drug testing. Successful applicants shall be subject to a pre-assignment drug test if the individual is currently in a non-safety sensitive position. As an employee in this position the individual shall be subject to random drug testing. A positive drug test will result in disciplinary action.
