Perform file underwriting account review using established minimum acceptability requirements, rating, policy assembly using approved policy wording and endorsements, and loss control assignments.

Work with agents and brokers in the collection and review of required underwriting information.

Operate within established underwriting authority levels and guidelines as are developed and modified by EverSports and carrier management from time to time.

Essential Job Functions and Scope:

• Underwrite submissions for specialty products within agreed upon Letters of Authority and Underwriting Guidelines as established.
• Achieve targeted loss ratio objectives to achieve combined ultimate loss ratio and future loss ratio goals as established.
• Achieve premium production goals as established.
• Underwrite within agreed upon Letters of Authority and Underwriting Guidelines as established.
• Monitor and abide by insurance statutes and defined procedures in all states in order to assure regulatory compliance and accurate administrative processes.
• Underwriter developing in multi-line underwriting expertise.
• Participates in training and development opportunities to expand industry knowledge and enhance professionalism.
• Assigned to market segments that have consistent exposures and complexities that have generally been considered and solved for.
• Developing in technical problem-solving adeptness. May rely heavily on others when presented with unexpected system or underwriting challenges.
• Demonstrate proficiency in written and verbal communication to support ongoing service needs.
• Developing skills in negotiating terms and conditions or solving for presented exposures.
• Peer to Peer mentoring

Qualifications, Education & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree preferred, Risk Management/Insurance major is a plus
• A minimum of 1 year of commercial insurance experience
• Developing knowledge of commercial property & casualty insurance forms and coverages, practices, terminology and processing procedures
• Resident Insurance Producer License is a plus
• Demonstrated Learning and Development through designation pursuit

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:

• Familiar with introductory insurance concepts
• May pursue coursework to develop foundational industry and coverage knowledge
• May have underwriting experience in 1-2 lines of business or a specific industry segment
• Microsoft Office software applications proficiency
• Intermediate Excel skills
• Experience in one or more insurance software platforms for rating, policy management and agency management (i.e. Policy Decisions, Concept One)
• Strong organization and prioritization
• Ability to maintain high levels of accuracy
• Strong interpersonal skills, including phone skills with the ability to work collaboratively across various levels within the organization
