Shift : 1st

Pay Rate : $17.00 / hr BOE

Job Summary

The Packer is responsible for preparing steel bars for shipment by utilizing specialized equipment and maintaining an organized inventory of materials. This role involves the use of tools and machinery, such as overhead bridge cranes and pneumatic banders, while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate an overhead bridge crane to handle and position steel bars safely.
• Use a pneumatic bander to apply steel strapping, requiring the ability to lift approximately 40 lbs.
• Apply rust-preventative coatings to steel bars to ensure product integrity during storage and shipping.
• Slide cardboard tubes onto round steel bars as part of the packing process.
• Conduct regular inventory checks of excess cardboard tubes and report discrepancies.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, following company safety and operational guidelines.
• Collaborate with team members to meet packing and shipping deadlines efficiently.

Qualifications

Proficiency in operating warehouse tools and equipment.
