Position Overview:
The Purchasing manager is responsible for creating construction project specs and managing the procurement of construction materials necessary. This role requires strong construction knowledge, negotiation skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work closely with project managers, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure smooth and on time project execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with project managers, architects and interior designers to create and refine complete project spec for a custom home.
- Research, source and purchase construction materials, ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers.
- Coordinate with project managers to align material deliveries with project schedules.
- Review and manage purchase orders, invoices, and ensure accurate documentation.
- Provide regular reports on cost-saving initiatives, keep track of subcontractor performance.
Qualifications:
- Prior strong experience in purchasing and procurement within the construction industry is a must.
- Strong negotiation skills and knowledge of construction materials and supplies.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Salary : $90,000 - $125,000
