Ceramics Instructor

Job description Want to teach ceramics with a beautiful lakefront view? Our Ceramics Instructor will create and teach a curriculum for children, aged from 4 to 15. You will be responsible for working on small (30 minute) projects to teach the fundamentals of ceramics (pottery) while keeping it fun, diverse, educational and age-appropriate. The Ceramics Instructor position is perfectly suited to a student or teacher (or similar) who has some ceramics/pottery interest and/or experience. As a specialist, you are required to be part of our arrivals and departures team at the beginning and end of each camp day. JOB REQUIREMENTS ESSENTIAL Must have graduated from high school. The knowledge and ability to explain and demonstrate a wide variety of music activities. The knowledge and ability to teach, explain directions and organize children aged 4-15 to play musical instruments (guitar, drums, keyboard, etc.), sing, collaborate in small groups, and develop an appreciation for music. An enthusiastic, motivated, warm, friendly, caring individual. Experience of musical performances. The ability to communicate, through patience and clarity, with children and co-workers. The ability to adapt with a smile in a fast-paced, social environment PREFERRED Experience of working with children Experience of teaching music and organizing musical performances. Musical or Performing Arts Certification. DATES, HOURS AND PAY 8:30am to 4:00pm (this includes a 30-minute break per day) June 23rd to Aug 22nd (9 wks, preferred) or Aug 15th (8 wks) and hours are guaranteed. Mon to Fri each week except for July 4th when we are closed. Salary range is $3,950 for 8 weeks of camp. Salary range is $4,425 for 9 weeks of camp. Extra income can be made (up to $1,000), working as a Bus Counselor or Extended Day staff. LOCATION Sharon, MA but with free bus transportation from all over MA. We need Bus Counselors from Boston, Braintree, Brookline, Chestnut Hill, Milton, Needham, Newton, Wellesley and more! Housing is NOT included. Everwood Day Camp is an outdoor focused summer camp featuring many physically demanding activities on land and water. Staff members are regularly required to walk, hike, and otherwise move in woods, fields, beaches, and lakes. To perform the job, each staff member of Everwood Day Camp must be physically able to travel around a large rural environment (fields, woods, beach, etc.) over uneven ground on a regular basis.
