Job Description: Every Special Child is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher (Moderate/Severe) to support 9th and 10th-grade students in San Martin, CA 95046.
This is a full-time position (37.5 hours/week, 5 days/week, per the school calendar), serving a caseload of 13 students. The position is available immediately and will continue through June 13, 2025.
The ideal candidate will provide individualized instruction, develop IEPs, and implement specialized strategies to meet the needs of students with moderate to severe disabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for assigned students.
Provide direct instruction and interventions tailored to students with moderate to severe disabilities.
Utilize adaptive teaching methods and assistive technology to enhance student learning.
Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff to ensure student success.
Conduct assessments to monitor progress and modify instruction accordingly.
Implement behavior support plans and classroom management strategies.
Maintain compliance with state and federal special education laws.
Communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and school staff.
Requirements
Valid California Special Education Credential authorizing service for students with Moderate/Severe disabilities.
Experience working with high school students (9th & 10th grade) in a special education setting preferred.
Strong knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and compliance.
Effective classroom management and behavior support skills.
Ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.
