Job Description: We are currently screening for a Special Day Class (SDC) Teacher with a Moderate/Severe Credential to support a small group of 2nd-3rd grade students in Morgan Hill, CA. This classroom has about 5 students and is already staffed with 2 experienced paraprofessionals to provide additional support.
As an SDC Teacher, you will play a vital role in helping students with moderate to severe disabilities reach their full potential by implementing individualized learning plans and fostering a nurturing, structured classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to student needs
Provide engaging and differentiated instruction to support diverse learning styles
Collaborate with paraprofessionals, therapists, and general education staff to ensure student success
Foster a supportive and structured classroom environment for students with moderate/severe disabilities
Use adaptive technology and instructional strategies to enhance learning
Monitor student progress and adjust lesson plans as needed
Communicate effectively with parents and school staff to support student development
Qualifications:
Valid California Special Education Credential (Moderate/Severe)
Experience working with students with moderate to severe disabilities
Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
Ability to work collaboratively with support staff and school teams
Passion for special education and helping students achieve their goals
