Every Special Child is seeking dedicated Special Education Teachers to join our campus near San Fernando , CA
As a Special Education Teacher, you will work with students who have a wide range of learning, mental, emotional, and physical disabilities. Your role will involve creating individualized education plans and providing support to help students develop essential skills.
Assignment Details
- Elementary-TK/K/1/2 (Primary grades)-BSP (behavior support program)-SDC. Requires teacher to have experience working with in a Behavior Support Program (formerly known as Emotional Disturbance)If the credential is newer, the Mild/Mod Support needs credential is acceptable, or Mild/Mod or Mod/Severe credentials are acceptable as well
- Middle School- Mild/Mod credential, SDC class Maths and Science
Duties:
>Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs
>Adapt general education lessons to meet the needs of students with disabilities
> Assess students' progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
>Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and other professionals to support student learning
>Provide direct instruction in various subjects such as math, language arts, science, and social studies
>Utilize behavioral health strategies to address challenging behaviors
->Create a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students
Requirements:
>Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field
>State certification in Special Education
>Experience working with children with disabilities
>Knowledge of curriculum development and lesson planning
>Familiarity with child welfare laws and regulations
>Ability to educate students with diverse needs including those with deaf education requirements
>Strong communication and interpersonal skills
>Background in physical education or childcare is a plus
