We are excited to share an extraordinary opportunity for the right person to join a strong and impactful team as our Human Resources and Payroll Manager for Elderhaus PACE in coastal Wilmington NC. We are looking for a dynamic HR Manager to work with our incredible team!
The PACE (Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly) is a comprehensive health care program designed to address the desires of elders who wish to remain in their community while receiving all needed medical and supportive services in their home.
The HR/Payroll Manager is a generalist position, responsible for the administration, coordination, and evaluation of Human Resources functions for 90 employees, including payroll. Responsibilities include assisting the Executive Director and EveryAge Chief HR Officer in decisions related to employee policy and procedure.
- Maintains current knowledge of HR policies, programs, laws, and issues, and ensures facility's compliance.
- Advises Executive Director, Department Managers, and supervisors on employment actions in accordance with employment laws and company policies and procedures.
- Effectively manages the human resource information systems database and ensures payroll is accurate and completed by deadlines.
- Administers benefit program, including determining eligibility and enrolling employees in benefit programs. Communicates benefit information to employees.
- Represents the company in unemployment claims.
- Supports the Executive Director in the annual review and administration of the Wage Administration Program.
- Creates, maintains, and reviews personnel records and files for all employees to ensure completeness, accuracy, and timeliness, while maintaining confidentiality.
- Works directly with other Department Managers to assist them in carrying out their responsibilities with Human Resources matters.
- Processes the preliminary screening of applicants
- Explains and answers any questions about employee policies, procedures, and benefits during orientation process and in-service education program.
- Prepares and maintains personnel reports as requested and/or required by law (overtime, staff turnover, birthday and service award lists, applicant tracking, etc.).
- Advises the Executive Director of inconsistent personnel practices and problems related to individual departments.
- Conducts the recruitment effort for all employees and conducts new-employee orientations.
- Manages workers' compensation claims, Employee Incident Reporting, and appropriate OSHA records.
Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of HR experience or equivalent. Experience working with an elderly population or PACE experience is preferred.
