EVG Specialty Network is seeing a highly motivated and energetic Veterinary Technician and Support Staff Recruiter to attract and engage top talent for one of our network practices, Friendship Hospital for Animals in Washington, DC. You'll work consecutively with the hospital team and the EVG Talent Acquisition team to provide direct hiring and sourcing support, in addition to building best interview and hiring practices for the team and supporting engagement with technicians and other support staff across the United States.

Position Summary
As a Veterinary Technician and Support Staff Recruiter, you will play a pivotal role in sourcing and engaging with top veterinary technicians and support staff via multiple avenues to support the hiring needs of Friendship Hospital for Animals. This is the perfect role for a former veterinary technician or vet tech manager with at least one year of full-cycle recruiting experience under their belt. While this position will start with sole support for FHA, it will likely expand to have additional network support as time progresses.
What you'll do:
- Support and partner with department managers to create and revise veterinary technician and support staff job advertisements
- Review and analyze really analytics to provide insight and recommendations on the best use of marketing spend
- Utilize recruiting resources including online job boards, social media, networking, and job fairs to source qualified candidates, review resumes, and connect candidates to opportunities promptly
- Serve as the main point of contact for candidates and internal partners
- Must be a team player who demonstrates the ability to build strong partnerships with hospital team members, recruiting partners, candidates, and external companies
- Work closely with department managers to determine hiring needs, create strategies to fill those needs, and work with the team to attract diverse candidates with the right skills and capabilities to ensure short and long-term business objectives
- Post job advertisements, review applications, interview candidates, coordinate face-to-face interviews, create and send offers, and process candidate to HR for onboarding
- Track and provide ongoing reporting on the status of open roles and progress to fill those roles to the team
- Proactively add candidates and manage candidate pipelines within our ATS
- Educate and advise department managers on candidate selection best practices, recruitment philosophy, the candidate experience, and hiring policies and procedures
- Handle and maintain confidential and sensitive candidate information appropriately
Who you are:
- Credentialed Technician with shift or floor management experience or Veterinary Hospital Manager with at least 3 years of experience
- At least one year of full-cycle recruiting experience (in or out of industry) is required
- Previous work experience within a larger specialty/emergency hospital is preferred
- Experience and interest in creative writing to help reimagine job ads and descriptions
- Proficiency with Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, MS word, Facebook, and Linkedin
- Motivated self-starter who can act with little day-to-day oversight after onboarding period, and tackle business challenges independently and successfully
- Superior organizational, prioritization and verbal/written communication skills
- Deep understanding of animal health and the veterinary nursing space, including understanding of the traits, skills, and qualities required of prospective candidates for veterinary support staff positions
- Knowledge and experience with different interviewing techniques and talent assessment methods
- Located on the East Coast and in the Eastern Time Zone, within 40 miles of a regional airport
- Able to travel domestically between 5-10% per year to Washington DC, and to occasional career fairs regionally for technician recruiting support
