We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. Responsibilities
- Assist individuals with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and household tasks.
- Provide support in medication administration and ensure adherence to prescribed health plans.
- Monitor and document vital signs as necessary, reporting any changes or concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
- Engage clients in social activities and community integration efforts to promote independence and social skills.
- Implement individualized care plans tailored to the unique needs of each client, focusing on their strengths and preferences.
- Assist with mobility needs, including lifting and transferring clients safely as required.
- Foster positive relationships with clients while maintaining professional boundaries.
- Collaborate with family members, healthcare providers, and other team members to ensure comprehensive care.
- Must have valid driver license and vehicle and be willing to take the client out into the community. Mileage will be reimbursed.
Qualifications
- Experience in long-term care or home community care settings is preferred.
- Background in social work or caregiving is a plus.
- Familiarity with memory care practices and working with individuals who have developmental disabilities is highly desirable.
- Ability to lift clients safely and provide physical assistance when needed.
- Knowledge of medication administration protocols and vital sign monitoring is beneficial.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with clients, families, and team members.
- Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others achieve their personal goals.
- Must be able to work flexible hours as needed to accommodate client schedules.
