Responsibilities
- Assist individuals with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.
- Implement individualized care plans tailored to each person's needs and preferences.
- Monitor and document vital signs as required, ensuring any changes in health status are reported promptly.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance social engagement and reduce feelings of isolation.
- Facilitate participation in community activities and encourage skill development through various programs.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment for residents, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, family members, and other caregivers to ensure comprehensive care.
- Assist with patient monitoring to track progress toward goals outlined in care plans.
Requirements
- Previous experience in caregiving or related fields such as home health, senior care, hospice care, or working with individuals with disabilities is preferred.
- Knowledge of autism spectrum disorders and effective communication strategies for working with individuals on the spectrum.
- Ability to perform basic medical tasks such as taking vital signs and understanding care plans.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a genuine desire to help others achieve their personal goals.
- Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude are essential for success in this role.
- Must be able to pass background checks as required by state regulations.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed.
- Must have a valid driver license and vehicle and be willing to drive client out in the community. Mileage is reimbursed.
