Responsibilities
- Assist individuals with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.
- Provide companionship and emotional support, promoting social interaction and community involvement.
- Monitor and document vital signs, ensuring any changes in health status are reported promptly.
- Implement individualized care plans tailored to each client's needs, focusing on their strengths and preferences.
- Uphold resident rights by advocating for their choices and preferences in all aspects of care.
- Engage clients in recreational activities that promote physical and mental well-being.
- Maintain a clean and safe living environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care and effective communication regarding client progress.
Requirements
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred but not mandatory.
- Knowledge of caregiving principles, including CPR certification and basic first aid skills.
- Ability to observe patients effectively, recognizing changes in behavior or health conditions.
- Familiarity with home community care practices is advantageous.
- Strong interpersonal skills, demonstrating empathy, patience, and respect for client dignity.
- Ability to cook nutritious meals that accommodate dietary restrictions as needed.
- Must be able to pass background checks as required by state regulations.
- Must have a valid driver license and vehicle and be willing to drive client out in the community. Mileage is reimbursed.
