Position Overview

We're seeking an experienced Director of Engineering to co-lead our software development team. As the Director, you will be responsible for managing a team of developers and engineers, ensure quality and velocity standards and goals are met, work directly with the CTO on technical vision and architecture, maintain a healthy level of individual contribution, and collaborate internally with others across the company to ensure the delivery of high-quality software products on time. You will play a critical role in scaling our platform and ensuring that our products meet the highest security standards while maintaining ease of use for our customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Team Management - Guide the development team, fostering an innovative and collaborative culture. Provide daily instructions on what each member should be working on. Track and measure execution in JIRA.
• Individual Contributor - Guide the development team, fostering an innovative and collaborative culture. Provide daily instructions on what each member should be working on. Track and measure execution in JIRA.
• Security & Compliance - Ensure all software solutions comply with the latest cybersecurity standards and regulations. Lead efforts to continually improve the security posture of Evo Security’s products.
• Collaboration - Work closely with the product management, design, and executive teams to define the product roadmap and deliver against company milestones.
• Operational Excellence - Implement best practices in software development, including CI/CD, automated testing, and agile methodologies. Optimize for performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Innovation & Scaling - Stay ahead of technology trends to continuously improve Evo Security’s products. Drive initiatives to optimize performance and scale infrastructure efficiently.

Required Qualifications

• 7 years of experience in software engineering, with at least 1-2 years in a managerial or technical program management role.
• Proven experience scaling engineering teams and delivering product features and capabilities on time.
• Strong knowledge of cloud-native architectures, microservices, and distributed systems.
• Deep understanding of cybersecurity best practices, including identity and access management (IAM).
• Experience with agile development methodologies and DevOps culture.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate ambiguity.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams and influence at all levels.

Preferred Qualifications

• Many years of experience as a software engineer with experience managing others.
• Experience in the cybersecurity industry or with security products.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and security tools.
• Understanding of compliance standards such as SOC 2, and GDPR.
• Familiarity with identity and access management protocols (e.g., SAML, OAuth, OpenID Connect).
