Position Overview

As a Gummy Depositing Machine Technician, you will be responsible for installing, servicing, troubleshooting, and maintaining our gummy depositing machines at customer sites. This role requires strong mechanical and electrical skills as well as a thorough understanding of food processing and safety standards (GMP, HACCP). Successful candidates will be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and customer-focused, with the ability to travel frequently.

Key Responsibilities

1. Installation & Commissioning

• Travel to customer facilities to install and commission new gummy depositing machines.

• Calibrate, test, and verify functionality to ensure optimal machine performance.

• Provide on-site training to customer teams on proper operation and routine maintenance.

2. Maintenance & Troubleshooting

• Perform preventive maintenance and routine inspections to maximize equipment uptime and efficiency.

• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and PLC-related issues, and implement timely repairs.

• Recommend upgrades or parts replacement to improve overall system performance.

3. Technical Support

• Provide technical guidance to customers via phone, email, and on-site visits.

• Collaborate closely with Engineering and Production teams to refine machine design and resolve complex technical challenges.

• Document all service activities, including repairs, calibrations, and part replacements.

4. Customer Relationship Management

• Build positive relationships with customers through responsive communication and exceptional service.

• Proactively identify potential issues and suggest preventive measures to minimize downtime.

5. Compliance & Safety

• Adhere to all relevant food processing standards, including GMP and HACCP protocols.

• Follow company and client site safety procedures, ensuring the well-being of yourself and others during installation and maintenance activities.

Qualifications & Experience

• Education:
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical certification or associate degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field preferred.
• Technical Skills:
• 2 years of experience in machine installation, maintenance, or field service (preferably within the confectionery, bakery, or food production industry).
• Strong mechanical aptitude; experience working with mechanical drives, pumps, servo motors, and pneumatic systems.
• Familiarity with PLCs and automation controls (Allen Bradley, Siemens, etc.) for troubleshooting and minor programming adjustments.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals.
• Industry Knowledge:
• Understanding of gummy or confectionery depositing processes a strong plus.
• Working knowledge of food safety standards (GMP, HACCP).
• Soft Skills:
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to deliver clear technical guidance to customers.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Other Requirements:
• Valid driver’s license and passport (or ability to obtain) for occasional international travel.
• Willingness to travel up to 50–70% of the time to customer sites.
