Job Responsibilities/Overview:
We are looking for a motivated Body Shop Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and refinishing aircraft exteriors, including sanding, repairing body surfaces, and applying specialized coatings. You’ll play a key role in helping us achieve high-quality finishes that meet safety and regulatory standards.
Job Duties:
- Prepare aircraft for painting by performing fiberglass repairs, applying body filler, sanding, and priming surfaces.
- Inspect and address any imperfections or flaws in the aircraft exterior to ensure a flawless finish and top-tier quality.
- Prepare aircraft surfaces for priming by hanging parts, cleaning, masking, and sanding as necessary.
- Perform aluminum surface preparation and safely handle hazardous materials, including chemicals and cleaning agents, following all safety protocols for proper usage, proper use of protective equipment, storage, and disposal.
- Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, meeting tight deadlines while maintaining a focus on precision and attention to detail.
- Ensure the workspace is clean and organized by maintaining both the aircraft and hangar as required.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift heavy materials and equipment (up to 50 lbs)
- Comfortable working at various heights, on ladders, and within ambient temperatures.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime if necessary
Education/Experience Requirements:
- Prior body shop experience is required; completion of an automotive or trade school program in collision repair, bodywork, or painting is a plus.
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment typically used in bodywork and repair.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures in an industrial or shop environment.
