Executive Director, Technical Accounting & SEC Reporting

Let’s talk about some of the key responsibilities of the role:
- Direct all aspects of SEC reporting, ensuring all filings are accurate, complete, and reflect the company’s financial and operational performance. Requires collaboration with legal, investor relations, internal audit and finance.
- Monitor changes in SEC disclosure rules and financial reporting regulations (including Sarbanes-Oxley compliance) and proactively adjust internal policies and reporting processes as needed.
- Responsible for technical accounting research and assessment, working closely with management and external auditors. Includes new product launches, third party partnership agreements, marketing and sales initiatives, consumer loyalty programs and any other identified new potential revenue stream or arrangement. Direct the implementation of new GAAP accounting standards.
- Ensure timely completion of month end close, with direct responsibility for revenue recognition, royalties, stock-based compensation and other areas as assigned, in partnership with all other accounting functions.
- Provide quarterly and annual financial statement audit support; work closely with internal audit function and external auditors.
- Participate in projects to reduce close cycle via process improvement and automation.
- Lead and mentor a growing team of three accountants, fostering motivation and providing the necessary support to ensure they successfully fulfill their duties and responsibilities.
- Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers, including ability to explain technical accounting requirements to non-accountant leaders within the organization and collaborate to define appropriate solutions to achieve best business and accounting outcomes.
- Participate in other special projects and analyses as needed.
Skills and Qualifications Required for this Dynamic Team Member:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting; CPA required.
- 12 years of relevant professional accounting experience.
- Demonstrated expertise in SEC regulations, GAAP, and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
- High level of organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Able to think critically and communicate issues to management; solution-oriented with business outcomes in mind.
- Collaborative leader who promotes team unity.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly motivated to grow with the Company and ability to adapt to change.

- This position reports to the VP, Accounting.
Compensation & Total Rewards:
The expected pay range for this position is $230,000-$290,000. Your actual base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on several considerations including but not limited to role-relevant knowledge and skills, experience, education, certifications, and more.
