Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in construction estimating and project management, with the ability to analyze project specifications and develop accurate cost estimates. This role is critical in ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget while maintaining high-quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects.
- Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to gather necessary information for accurate pricing.
- Utilize software tools such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam for estimating and project management tasks.
- Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing.
- Monitor project costs throughout the lifecycle, implementing cost control measures as necessary.
- Prepare detailed reports outlining estimated costs, including labor, materials, equipment, and overhead expenses.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits to assess project requirements and conditions.
- Ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions while identifying potential risks associated with pricing.

- Xactimate is a widely used estimation software in the property insurance and restoration industries, particularly for estimating repair costs associated with damages to a building and contents. - Proficient Use of Xactimate Software:
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience:
- Several years of experience in estimating, particularly within property damage restoration or construction
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Xactimate certification, IICRC certifications) can enhance credibility and knowledge
- Background in construction management, engineering, architecture, or a related field is beneficial
- Deep understanding of the software's features, tools and functionalities.
- Ability to navigate the platform efficiently, including creating detailed estimate, using templates, and integrating other relevant documents.
- Understanding of construction and repair processes:
- Knowledge of the construction industry, including materials, labor costs, and standard practices for repairs and renovations.
- Familiarity with different construction trades such as electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry, as well as their respective costs.
- Attention to Detail:
- Exceptional accuracy in estimating quantities of materials and scope of work
- Ability to analyze and interpret property damage effectively to ensure all necessary repairs are included in the estimate.
- Familiarity with Insurance Processes:
- Understanding of insurance terminology, policy coverage, and claims processes.
- Ability to effectively communicate with insurance adjusters, contractors, and clients
- Strong Communication Skills:
- Ability to present estimates clearly and professionally, possibly delivering estimates in person or via written reports.
- Proficient in discussing findings and estimate with clients and stakeholders to explain costs and processes.
- Continuous Learning and Adaptability:
- Keeping up with changes in industry standards, building codes, and software updates.
- Willingness to undergo additional training (e.g., certifications related to estimating, construction management, etc.)
- Problem-Solving Ability:
- Capable of evaluating unique situations and coming up with cost-effective solutions.
- Experience in handling unexpected issues that may arise during the estimation or repair processes.
- Knowledge of Local Codes and Regulations:

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
