M365 and SharePoint Engineer - Hybrid (1 day in office per week)

We are seeking an experienced M365 & SharePoint Engineer to join our client's IT team in Chicago. This role will focus on managing and optimizing their centralized Microsoft 365 tenant, supporting users, and leading the integration of newly acquired businesses into their M365 ecosystem. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Microsoft 365, SharePoint Online, Teams, and OneDrive, with hands-on experience in mail and file migrations.

Key Responsibilities:

•M365 Administration – Maintain and support a centralized Microsoft 365 tenant, ensuring security, performance, and best practices are followed.

•SharePoint & OneDrive Management – Design, configure, and optimize SharePoint Online and OneDrive environments, including permissions, workflows, and document management.

•Business Integrations – Lead email and file migrations for newly acquired businesses, ensuring a smooth transition into the existing M365 ecosystem.

•Exchange Online & Teams – Support and optimize Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams, and related collaboration tools.

•Security & Compliance – Work with security teams to enforce compliance policies, manage data governance, and enhance M365 security posture.

•Automation & Scripting – Utilize PowerShell to automate tasks, improve efficiency, and maintain system health.

•User Support & Documentation – Provide upper-tier support, troubleshoot issues, and create documentation for users and IT staff.

Your Background:

•4 years of experience managing Microsoft 365, SharePoint Online, Exchange Online, and OneDrive in an enterprise environment.

•Hands-on experience with migrating mailboxes, SharePoint sites, and file shares to M365.

•Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for M365 automation and administration.

•Experience integrating new businesses into an existing M365 ecosystem is a plus.

•Familiarity with Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), Intune, and Conditional Access policies is beneficial.

•Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
