Position: Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)
Location: Orono, ME
About the Role:
We're seeking a kind-hearted, detail-oriented, medication-passing, chart-updating LVN to join our team in Orono, ME. If you're someone who brings compassion to every patient interaction and thrives in geriatric, hospice, or long-term care settings, we want to hear from you.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Provide direct patient care, including administering medications and treatments
- Monitor and document vital signs and conduct patient assessments
- Respond to emergency situations and support basic life-saving procedures
- Assist patients with daily activities such as hygiene, mobility, and meals
- Keep detailed, accurate patient records
- Work collaboratively with physicians, RNs, and interdisciplinary care teams
- Educate patients and families on health management and available resources
- Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant care environment
Preferred Experience & Skills:
- Background in geriatrics, long-term care, or hospice preferred
- Familiarity with pain management techniques
- Experience in home and community-based care is a plus
- Infant care knowledge is helpful for family-based facilities
- Ability to lift and assist patients safely
- Bonus if you’ve ever performed (or assisted with) spinal taps—yes, the procedure, not the movie
