Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Nursing Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to patients and nursing staff, ensuring high-quality care in various settings, including urgent care, pediatrics, and ICU. This role is critical in assisting with daily living activities, monitoring patient health, and maintaining a safe environment while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
Duties
- Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Monitor and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure.
- Administer medications as prescribed and ensure proper documentation using electronic health record systems like Epic.
- Provide care for patients in urgent care settings and assist in pediatric care as needed.
- Support nursing staff with patient assessments and documentation of care provided.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
- Assist in the management of Durable Medical Equipment (DME) for patients when necessary.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to implement individualized care plans for patients.
Skills
- Proficient in medication administration and understanding of medication protocols.
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems such as Epic is preferred.
- Experience in urgent care or ICU settings is a plus.
- Ability to take vital signs accurately and efficiently.
- Knowledge of pediatric care principles is beneficial.
- Strong caregiving skills with a focus on empathy and patient-centered care.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
